Dr. Eldon E. Baker, 84, of Delphi, died Thurs.-Jan. 1, 2015 at 12pm at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. He was born April 4, 1930 in Quinter, KS, to the late Fred & Edith Wolf Baker. His marriage was to Betty Rose Knaus in Knob Noster, MO, on Aug. 22, 1954, and she survives. He graduated from Quinter High School in 1948, received his BS from the University of Kansas-1952, received his Doctorate in Family Practice Medicine in 1955 from the University of Kansas. He practiced family medicine in Delphi from 1958-1996. After retiring he saw patients at the Tippecanoe County Community Health Clinic in Lafayette. He was a member of the Cutler Ridge New Conference Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Surviving: wife-Betty Rose Baker of Delphi; sons: Stanley & Bonita Baker of Lafayette, Nelson & Joleen Baker of Rossville; daughter-Janice & James Shrum of Lafayette; sisters: Edis Brovont of Rossville, Jean & Dale Flora of North Manchester, Jane & Curtis Bennett of Monterey, CA, Geraldine & Dean Yoder of Delphi; 7 grandchildren: Trent & Malinda Baker, Todd & Sara Baker, Tamera Baker, Amanda & Gary Smith, Seth & Stephanie Graves, Nicholas & Justin Baker; great grandchildren: Kimberli Smith, Morgan Baker, Henry Graves, Isla Baker. Preceded in death by a brother Carroll, and a brother in law George. Services: The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 9am until his funeral service at 10am at Cutler Ridge New Conference Old German Baptist Brethren Church, South of Flora on US 75 South, home brethren officiating.
