Douglas L. "Pep" Andry, 81, of rural Carroll County, passed away Monday-May 16, 2022, at 8:48pm, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. He has been a resident there for the past 2 months. He was born in Orange County, IN, to the late Levi & Mable Smith Andry. Pep graduated from Paoli High School in 1959. He served his Country in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was a member of the Logansport American Legion. Pep worked on the farm crew and later as an electrician at the Logansport State Hospital for several years. His marriage was to Laverne Crowe on August 31, 1968, in Delphi, and she preceded him in death on March 16, 2020. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, and hanging out with his buddies. He gave freely of his time to help many friends and family with their electrical needs, and was also there to help where needed. Surviving: daughter-Chere & Steve Nichols of Delphi; son-Ron & Phyliss Babb of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren: Charlie & Kara Nichols of Noblesville, Brandi & Brad Farrer of Delphi, Woody & Kayla Nichols of Frankfort, & Janelle & Rick Denny of Squaw Lake, MN; 10 great grandchildren survive. Brothers: Willard Andry, Phillip & Debbie Andry, Bobby & Joyce Andry; sisters: Rosie & Junior Stewart, Diana & Gary Gilmore, Myra Stroud, & Becky Smith. Preceded in death by 2 sisters Marjorie & Marietta; 2 brothers Novy & Boss. Services: Visitation will be Saturday from 12pm until his funeral service at 2pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. His grandson Charlie & his brother Phillip will officiate. Burial will be at Paint Creek Cemetery, near Camden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Logansport American Legion.
