Doris G. Stennett Marshall, 83, of Flora, died Monday-July 9, 2018 at 1:20am at her home. She was born April 6, 1935 in Raleigh, NC, to the late T.O. "Ollie" & Nett Thorn (THORN) Stennett. Her marriage was to Frank J. Marshall Jr., in Indianapolis, on Aug 24, 1956, and he preceded her in death on Nov 26, 2005. She graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1953, Charlotte, NC; and received her RN degree from The Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, Charlotte, NC. She worked for 22 years in psychiatric & dental nursing, and in medical insurance claims. After retirement, she lived in Brown Co., IN, and worked in various craft shops in and around the Nashville area. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Delphi, where she was active with the women's fellowship and the Altar & Rosary Society. She and her husband belonged to the Knights of Columbus, and bowled on their league. She enjoyed music, and could play the piano, flute and violin. She enjoyed camping and traveling, having been to almost all the States, and in Canada & Europe, and loved to cruise her lake in her pontoon boat. She loved animals, especially her dogs. She was a member of the Chow Chow Association, and the Wildlife Federation. She enjoyed meeting people, and striking up a conversation with them, wherever she was. Surviving: daughters-Kellie D. Marshall of Charleston, SC, Debbie L. Gray of Lafayette; son-Kevin & Kim Marshall of Thorntown; 7 grandchildren. Preceded in death by an inf son John; a brother Donald. There will be no services at this time. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, in charge of arrangements.
