Donn Armstrong, 80, of Delphi, passed away at his home on Saturday-August 24, 2024, at 8:36pm, surrounded by his loving family. Donn was born on November 12, 1943, in New Castle, IN, to the late Byron & Marguerite Hayes Armstrong. His marriage was to Susan A. Schmitt, at the First Christian Church in New Castle, on March 31, 1973, and she survives. Donn was a 1962 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. He worked for General Motors for 32 years and belonged to the UAW #662, retiring in 1999. While working for GM, he completed his journeyman apprenticeships in sheet metal tinsmith and millwright. Raised in New Castle and raising his family in Anderson, he and his wife moved to Delphi in 2023 to be closer to their son and his family. Donn was active with the Anderson Kiwanis Club, Boy Scouts and little league baseball with his son. He was an Indianapolis Colt's fan, enjoyed yard work and keeping his home manicured just right. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed his family fishing trips to Northern Wisconsin. He dearly loved his family; they were his life. He enjoyed having them all together at his house for any occasion. Surviving: wife-Susan A. Armstrong of Delphi, son-Chad & Angie Armstrong of Delphi, grandchildren: Jamison & Kinley Armstrong, nephew-Greg Armstrong of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by an infant son Byron H. Armstrong, a brother Jerry, sister's Norma, Marcia, & Linda.

Services: Visitation will be Saturday from 10am until his funeral service at 12pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Chaplain Jim Steffens & Rev. Todd Ladd officiating.
