David L. "Red" Embrey I, 75, formerly of Delphi, died Sat.-Nov. 7, 2015 at his home in Chunky, Mississippi. He was born July 11, 1940 in Madison, IL, to the late Frank & Emmie Nichols Embrey. His marriage was to Martha K. Laughner in Frankfort, on Jan. 26, 1964, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 1994. He attended high school in Hickory, Mississippi. He worked for 32 yrs at the former Gerber Globle Valve Corp.-Delphi. He was a life resident of Delphi, and had lived in Mississippi for the past 3 years. He taught shot gun in 4-H shooting sports for many years, and was a girls softball coach. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, talking on his CB radio, woodworking, NASCAR, especially driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Surviving: daughter-Marie Embrey of Delphi; twins: David L. "Davey" Embrey II of Monticello, Dana K. Embrey Waye of Idaville; brother's: Carl "Butch" Embrey of Decatur, IL, James "Hotshot" Embrey of Granite City, IL; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter Ruth; grandson Mitch; a sister; 5 brother's. Services: Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi.
