David M. Carter, 45, of Delphi, passed away Thursday-October 17, 2024, at 4:47pm, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He had battled brain cancer since July. He and his family had moved to Delphi from San Diego County, CA, 1 year ago. David was born on May 23, 1979, in San Clemente, CA, to his mother Sharrell Nauretz Carter Trujillo, and his late father Michael K. Carter. David married Leticia "Letty" Carrillo in Oceanside, CA, on July 9, 2022, and she survives. David attended high school in San Clemente and received his GED. David worked in manufacturing at Caterpillar in Lafayette. David and his wife were members of First Assembly of God Church in Pittsburg, and he helped with the children's ministries. David also facilitated a local AA meeting at the Upper Room in Delphi. Always wanting to help those in need, caring for and reaching out to them, helping to point them in the right direction, letting them know the good Lord was always with them. David loved to refurbish old and classic bicycles. He was very hands on and mechanical. He could fix anything. He loved being outside, enjoyed hiking, drawing, and cooking. And when he was in charge of the meal, you weren't allowed in the kitchen, until it was on the table and ready to be shared. David loved his family and being with them. He loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing his faith with those around him. Surviving: wife-Leticia "Letty" Carter of Delphi, daughter-Cadence M. Carter of Delphi, son-David M. Carter Jr of Delphi, stepdaughter-Faith Wilson of Delphi, son-Julian A. Carter, mother-Sharrell & Anthony Trujillo of Delphi, sister-Kiley Carter of Monticello, brother-Shane Carter of Crawfordsville, brother-Jared Carter of Delphi, brother-Vinson Carter of Lafayette, brother-Brian L. Nauretz. Services: The family will receive friends Friday from 5pm until his memorial service at 7pm at First Assembly of God Church in Pittsburg, Pastor Brent Oliver officiating.
