Daniel Edward "Dan" Parmelee, 73 of rural Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly Sunday-August 29, 2021 at 6:03am at his home. He was born November 17, 1947 in Ames, Iowa, to the late Carlton & Bette Wobma Parmelee. His marriage was to Carol S. Stinson in Lafayette, on August 29, 1981, and she survives. He graduated from Klondike High School in 1966, and received his BS in Ag Econ from Purdue University in 1970. He started working for the Robert Fields John Deere Dealership in Lafayette in the parts department, and then for Reynolds Farm Equipment, and finally Holt Farm Equipment, both John Deere Dealerships, as parts manager for many years, retiring in 2008. He regularly attended with his wife Faith Church in Lafayette. Dan was very mechanical minded, and enjoyed tinkering with engines, tractors, and lawn mowers. He enjoyed watching old TV Westerns, and liked NASCAR auto racing. He was a devoted husband and dearly loved his wife and extended family. Surviving: wife-Carol S. Parmelee of rural Lafayette; nieces-Becky & Tom Mauriello of Orlando, FL, and Shari & Andy Clark of South Bend; 3 great nieces: Cami Mauriello, Lilly & Lexi Clark. He was preceded in death by a sister Jan Rich. Services: Visitation will be Saturday from 11am until his funeral service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Pastor Johnny Kjaer officiating. Burial at Pyrmont Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Church or Food Finders of Tippecanoe County. Facial masks would be appreciated, if those in attendance would wear them.
