Obituary

Curtis Edward Smith, 69, of Cutler, passed away Friday-October 27, 2023, at 8:49pm, at Community Hospital N, in Indianapolis. He suffered a stroke on June 10th of this year and had been in failing health since then. He was born June 20, 1954, in Logansport, IN, to the late James D. Smith, and his mother Phyllis Kressley Smith of Mobile, AL. His marriage was to Debbie S. Delrymple, in Burlington, on February 18, 1978, and she survives. Curtis graduated from Carroll High School in 1972. He worked at Fontana Fasteners Manufacturing in Frankfort for over 10 years, retiring in 2018. He was a member of Faith Church of Christ in Burlington. He was an avid reader, enjoyed music, and loved to host and cook for his family at the many gatherings they would have. He loved to golf and work in his yard. Liked watching the Indianapolis Colts and followed Purdue sports. He enjoyed canoeing on the Wildcat and boating with his family on different waterways. Family was everything to Curtis. He loved them all very much and enjoyed helping them out, even watching a granddaughter while her parents were working. He had a great sense of humor, and one of his family members said, "the world is not going to be quite as fun as it use to be" because of his passing. Surviving: wife-Debbie S. Smith of Cutler, son-Jeremy & Calin Smith of Cutler, son-Dr. Zachary Smith & his wife Dr. LeeAnn Reynolds of Hoover, AL, son-Casey & Jennifer Smith of Burlington, daughter-Chelsea & Chad Ramey of Edinburgh, brother-Ric & Marcy Smith of Yuma, AZ, brother-Dr. Brian & Gaie Smith of Mobile, AL. 8 grandchildren survive.
