Constance P. “Connie” Eikelburner Peters, 84, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lafayette on Tuesday-September 8, 2026, at 12:56pm. She and Earl were life residents of Delphi and had recently moved to Lafayette. Connie was born on October 7, 1941, in Frankfort, to the late Palmer & Inez Maxine Calloway Eikelburner. Her marriage was to Earl H. Peters, at the Wheatfield Ave. Christian Church in Logansport, on October 31, 1959, and he survives. Connie was a 1959 graduate of Logansport High School. She worked at Hillcrest Elementary School in Delphi in the Library, starting in 1978, for the next 19 years. She then went to work at the Flora Public Library for the next 8 years, retiring from there. Connie was a very active member of the Rockfield Christian Church and played the piano for services there for the last 50 years. She participated in the women’s fellowship, taught Sunday school and helped in the kitchen, providing meals for church functions. She volunteered teaching English to the local Hispanic community for a while and enjoyed spinning wool at the local pioneer days and volunteered at the Carroll County Historical Museum. She was an avid reader and wrote poetry. She loved to cook and have her family over for a meal. She dearly loved them all and enjoyed being together for any occasion. Surviving: husband-Earl H. Peters of Lafayette, son-Patrick & Judy Peters of Idaville, Michael & Joyce Peters of Frankfort, son-Daniel Peters of Lafayette, daughter-Barbara & Paul Tunget of Williamsport, grandchildren: Kyle & Tya Peters, Ryan Peters & Sam Wallace, Kelly & Michael Black, Matthew & Gina Peters, Mandy Stark & Chris, Jennifer & Troy Walls. 11 great grandchildren survive. Sister-Cathy & Tom Hickey of Logansport. Preceded in death by a sister Carol Trapp. Services: The visitation will be Tuesday-September 15, 2026, from 11AM until her funeral service at 2pm at the Rockfield Christian Church. Pastor Bill Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Rockfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockfield Christian Church, envelopes will be available there.
