Obituary

Christina M Williams, 80, of rural Flora, passed away Wednesday-February 4, 2026, at 8:05pm, at Franciscan Lafayette East Hospital, after a valiant battle with a long-term illness. She was born on July 25, 1945, in Wabash, to the late Merlin & Dorothy Haines Huston. Her marriage was to James R. "Jim" Williams in Wabash, on January 26, 1964, and he survives. Christine graduated from Wabash High School in 1963. She first worked at ESSEX Wire, then for Landis & Gyr in Lafayette, and lastly at Caterpillar in Lafayette retiring from there, after 10 years of service. She also babysat local children in her home and loved and cared for them just like her own, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bringhurst Community Church, where she taught Sunday school, played the piano, and helped with funeral dinners and other meals the church would provide. She and her husband are long time members of the Idlers Car Club, and she enjoyed going to the many car shows and displaying their car. She would make care packages for active-duty service personnel and send them out on special occasions. She was an awesome cook and loved to make meals for her entire family to enjoy. She loved to read, work word search and fill in puzzles, complete jig saw puzzles, mushroom hunt in Michigan, card games, and watching her favorite 70's TV shows. She loved her pet cats Squeaky, Blackie, and Marty. Christina's family was everything to her. She dearly loved them all and lived for the times they could all be together, enjoying a meal or playing one of her favorite card games. They were her life. Surviving: husband-James R. "Jim" Williams of Flora, son-James "Jim" & Kathleen Williams Jr of Beverly Hills, MI, daughter-Tricia Duncan & David Rueth of Speedway, 3 grandchildren: Abigail Williams, Jacqueline Duncan, & Olivia Rueth.
