Christina Marie "Chris" Giergielewicz Mollenhauer, 76, of Delphi, passed away Wednesday-July 17, 2024, at 10:44am, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi, after a brief illness. She was born on September 5, 1947, in Chicago, IL, to the late Walter M. & Beatrice N. Powers Giergielewicz. Her marriage was to Ronald L. Mollenhauer, in Chicago, on September 18, 1971, and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1995. She was born and raised in the Chicago area, and she and her husband moved to Indiana in 1988. She was a 1965 graduate of Lourdes High School in Chicago and was baptized into the Catholic faith at a church where she lived. Chris was a homemaker and worked for Lafayette Venetian Blind as a seamstress for over 20 years. Chris was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed making meals for her family, sitting around the table engaged in all kinds of conversation, with lots of laughter. She dearly loved them all and cherished all the time they could be together. Surviving: daughter-Brandi & Troy Shaw of Delphi, son-Dr. Robert M. Mollenhauer of Kerrville, TX, granddaughter-Dr. Erika M. Shaw of Lafayette, sister-Patricia & Chuck Unzueta of Chicago, IL, brother-Michael & Terri Giergielewicz of Maumee, OH, brother-Greg & Bev Giergielewicz of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by a brother Walter "Wally" Giergielewicz Jr. Services: A graveside service will be held on Monday-July 22, 2024, at 11am Central Time, at Bethania Cemetery, Justice, IL.
