Cheri Y. Kanatzer Hart, 78, of Delphi, passed away Wednesday-May 20, 2026, at 4:08pm, at Monticello Healthcare. Cheri was born on October 15, 1947, in Kokomo, to the late James & Rose Boyles Kanatzer. Her marriage was to Daniel L. Hart, in Brookston, on June 16, 1967, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2012. Cheri graduated from Brookston High School in 1966. Cheri was a CNA and worked in the healthcare field, at the former Birchwood Manor in Delphi and other local nursing homes and was a homemaker. Cheri enjoyed sewing and baking, putting out a big garden and canning the produce from it, and being with her family. She dearly loved them all. Surviving: daughter-Kelly & Mark Remaly of Bringhurst, daughter-Molly S. Johnson of Delphi, son-Sean & Charlene Hart of Delphi, son-Clay & Angie Hart of Delphi, son-Matthew Hart of Lafayette, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Denise, 2 brother’s James & Pete, infant twin daughter’s Heather & Katherine.

Services: The Hart family will receive friends on Thursday-May 28, from 4pm to 7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Private family burial at IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
