Charles A. "Charlie" Minnicus, 86, of Delphi, died Tues.-May 12, 2015 at 2:13am at his residence. He was born Aug. 9, 1928 in Laf., IN, to the late George & Margaret Mary Van Osten Minnicus. His marriage was to Teresa Bossung in Reynolds, on Oct. 9, 1954, and she survives. He was a 1946 graduate of Reynolds High School, and a U.S. Army Veteran. He started his carpentry work in Lafayette, working for various contractors building new homes, and business development, for several years. He then worked for 13 years at Hornback & Sickler Construction in Monticello, then for Isom Contruction at Reynolds, as a bridge superintendant for 10 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi; Delphi American Legion Post #75; was on the Carroll Co. Council on Aging Board; volunteered and helped build two Habitat for Humanity Houses. He enjoyed woodworking, cross word puzzles, gardening, and geneology. Surviving: wife-Teresa Minnicus of Delphi; daughter-Ann C. Minnicus of Delphi; sons: Steve E. Minnicus companion Shirley McCallie of Yeoman, Gordon & Kim Minnicus of Delphi, Mike R. Minnicus companion Tara Finley of Lapel, Jerry & Peggy Minnicus of Delphi, Tom G. Minnicus companion Tracey Slaven of Veedersburg, Tim & Linda Minnicus of Sheridan; sister-Ruth Ruemler of Reynolds; sister in law-Juanita Minnicus of Monticello; 8 grandchildren & 2 great grandson's. Preceded in death by an infant son Joseph R. Minnicus; grandson-Alan Minnicus; 2 brother's; 2 sister's. Services: friends may call Friday 4-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi.
