Charles H. "Charlie" Wilson, 88, of Lafayette, passed away Saturday-March 5, 2022, at 7:43pm, at St. Mary Healthcare Center in Lafayette. He had been a resident there since February 25, due to failing health. He was born July 11, 1933, in Landrum, SC, to the late John & Eliza Hall Wilson. His marriage was to Delores Jean Cain Brewer in Delphi, on July 23, 1982, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2014. Charlie was a 1951 graduate of Landrum High School, SC. He served 2 years in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Japan, as an aviation electrician. He formerly worked at the former Peters-Revington Furniture Factory in Delphi and was a vice president. He then worked for the former Mersman Table Factory in Ottoville, OH, for several years, then moved back to Indiana, and started working for Bank One in Lafayette (now Chase Bank) as a department head in the collection department for many years, retiring from there. He was a 53-year member of the Elks Lodge #143, West Lafayette. Charlie was an avid golfer. He loved to be outside, especially on the golf course, with his friends, playing the greens and having a good time. He dearly loved his family and the time they would spend together. Surviving: son-David & Jackie Tweddell Wilson of Lafayette; daughter-Susan & David German of Bossier City, LA; stepdaughter-Toni & Doug Gray of Nashville; brothers-James & Alma Wilson of TX, Doug & Barbara Wilson, Roy & Janet Wilson both of SC; sister-Dorothy & Tim Davidson of SC; 3 grandchildren & 2 step grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren & 2 step great grandchildren survive. Several nieces & nephews survive. Preceded in death by a son Dennis Charles Wilson; brother John; a sister Virginia and 2 infant sister's Clara & Mary. There will be no service.
