Carol L. Kincaid Wellnitz, 69, of Delphi, died Mon-Nov 7, 2016 at 3:25am, in St. Vincent Hospice of Indianapolis. She was born Sept 8, 1947 in Elwood, to the late Donald Kincaid and Doris Uetz Kincaid. Her marriage was to Craig Wellnitz in Indianapolis, on Jan 23, 1988, and he survives. She graduate from Wendell L. Willkie High School, Elwood, in 1964. She received her BS from Purdue University in 1968 in Industrial Economics. She received her MBA from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC, in 1987. She was assistant controller for Hardee's Food System for 7 years in Rocky Mount, NC. She then became owner/operator of IAM Inc., a billing company, she ran from 1988 to present. She was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Light Circle of the church, where she was the treasurer. She also participated in the hand bell choir of the church. A member of the Delphi Preservation Society, former board member also, and worked hard toward the renovation of the Delphi Opera House, the Wabash & Erie Canal Association, where she was a canal boat pilot, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, and had been treasurer, and while at Purdue University, was a Chi Omega Sorority member, and for the past 5 years has been on the sorority's house advisory board. She enjoyed Purdue Woman's basketball games. She and her husband rescue ex racing Greyhound dog's, and loved to travel. Especially their 10 trips over the last 14 years to England, to canal boat on the canal's, and explore the locks and villages they would encounter. One of Carol's greatest gifts to people, was being an organ donor. Surviving: husband-Craig Wellnitz of Delphi; step daughters-Jennifer & Drew Price of Indianapolis, Anne & Tim Zaug of Chicago; mother in law-Jeanne Wellnitz of Muncie; 5 grandchildren. Preceded by a brother Fred. There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date to be announced.
