Carla F. Cobbs Nichols, 65, of rural Monticello, passed away Monday-March 8, 2021 at 3pm at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, after a brief illness. She was born March 24, 1956 in Lafayette to her late father Harold Cobbs, and her mother Genean Norfleet Cobbs, who survives. She married Edward L. Nichols in Delphi, on January 5, 1976, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2011.  Carla attended Delphi High School. She worked at the Delphi Public Library for over 20 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going to different parks and being outdoors'. She liked crafts and painting.  Carla was kind and gentle, and was always willing to help those in need. Her smile was contagious, and would light up any room. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved her daughters and granddaughter and extended family so much, and being together for any reason would always make her happy. Surviving: daughters-Sonnet & Randy Lucas of Monticello, & Destiny & Rick Castro of Greenville, SC; granddaughter-Tori N. Lucas of Lafayette; sisters-Diana & Dean Marion of Monticello, Sue & Rob Johnson of Delphi, & Sharon & Rob Byrd of Indianapolis; brother-William Cobbs & Bill Turner of Indianapolis, her mother Genean Cobbs of Monticello.
