Carl E. Pennington, 90, formerly of Rockfield, passed away Wednesday-November 26, 2025, at 2:20pm, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. Carl was born on November 11, 1935, in Wauseon, OH, to the late Carl F. & Sadie Leininger. He married Vonda L. Miller in Delta, OH, on February 22, 1958, and she survives. Carl was a 1953 graduate of Chesterfield High School in Oak Shade, OH. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, stationed at Fort Riley, KS. Carl worked for the Andersons in Maumee, OH, and the Delphi plant for 20 years. He then worked for Downham Custom Homes in Lafayette for 20 years before retiring. Carl enjoyed woodworking, gardening, being outdoors, keeping his property picked up and mowed, and rooting for his favorite NFL football team, the Detroit Tigers. Family was everything to Carl & Vonda. They dearly loved their children and all their grandchildren and extended family. Being together with them all was most important to them. Surviving: wife-Vonda L. Pennington of Delphi, daughter-Kim & Jerry Wells of Delphi, son-Dan & Kathy Pennington of Delphi, son-Jeff & Mandy Pennington of Rossville, sister-Janice Jackson of Waterville, OH, brother-Larry Pennington of Wauseon, OH. 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter survives. Preceded in death by a brother Lee, sister-in-law Muriel, brother-in-law John. Services: Visitation will be Thursday from 11am until his funeral service at 1pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi.
