He started farming while living in Miami County with his father, then moving to Clinton County to farm for 4 years, and finally to Carroll County to settle on their farm. where he continued to work until retiring as best a farmer can in 2015. An avid sports fan, always cheering the Oracles on, and enjoyed Purdue men's and women's basketball, and the Indianapolis Colts football team. He enjoyed games, especially domino's and Pit card game he would play with his family and grandchildren, showing no mercy while delivering the winning play and laughing about it with much love. He enjoyed attending his families reunions, and attending his many grandchildren's sporting and school activities.  Carl was known as a kind and gentle man, always a big smile on his face, with a warm greeting for you, and that easy going personality that just made you feel good after speaking with him.
