Obituary

Calvin Curtis Fieleke, 76, of Delphi, died Tuesday-Dec 26, 2017, at 8:55pm, at IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, after a 2 year fight with cancer. He was born March 11, 1941 in Kankakee, IL, to the late Walter & Cleta Doehring Fieleke. He has two sisters, Carol & Garrett DeYoung of St Anne, IL, and Donna Romein of Delphi; an older brother Walter "Sonny" Fieleke Jr of Delphi. His marriage was to Patricia "Pat" Harter on October 18, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Lakeland, FL, and she survives. He attended schools in Momence, IL, and graduated in 1959 from Lakeland High School, Lakeland, FL. He co-managed the DuRa Brake Shop in Tampa, FL, then moved to Delphi, where he farmed for 40 years. He also spent a few years as a salesman for the former Coral Ford in Lafayette, and Dick Krieg Motors in Delphi. He retired from farming in 2006. Calvin loved the Lord, and was a great example of a Christian father & husband. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Delphi, for over 52 years. At First Baptist he served the Lord many years as a deacon, usher, and a greeter. He was a member of the Lafayette Indiana Historic Auto Club, and was a past president. He enjoyed touring the country with his Model-A cars. He and his wife wintered for several years in Lakeland, FL. Calvin loved his family and always enjoyed being with them for any and all opportunities and occasions. He is survived by his wife Patricia "Pat" Fieleke of Delphi; his two daughters; Kim & Patrick Kelley of Delphi, Eileen & Steve Fullenkamp of Valparaiso. He has 4 grandchildren: Jared & Hannah Kelley of Rossville, Danielle & Wes Schuiteman of Marion, Brooke & Logan Fullenkamp of Valparaiso. A great grandson that took his middle name: Isaac Curtis Kelley. Services: Friends may call Friday from 5pm-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Funeral service Saturday at 11am at the First Baptist Church, Delphi, Rev. Bill Glenn officiating. Burial at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
