Bruce E. Polstra, 69, of rural Delphi, died Mon.-June 29, 2015 at 2:58pm at IU Health Arnett Hospital-Laf. He had battled cancer since January. He was born Jan. 10, 1946 in Lafayette to his mother Juanita Stinson Scott, and his adoptive parents Carl & the late Eloise Polstra. He was formerly married to Alecia Martin Piggott of Delphi. He was a 1964 graduate of the former Klondike High School, West Lafayette. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, a Sargent, serving in the U.S. Army infantry from 1967-1969. He worked for Purdue University in the janitorial department at the Sports Complex as a supervisor for 16 years, retiring in 2012. He was a member of the Delphi American Legion Post #75, and the Delphi VFW Post #9383. He was an avid fan of Purdue University men's basketball, and the Chicago Bears Football teams. He enjoyed camping, boating, & fishing. Surviving: daughter-Stacey J. Polstra of rural Brookston; his father-Carl Polstra of Illinois; sisters: Caroline & Richard Houser of Delphi, Judy Cline of Lafayette; brothers: Bill & Lisa Ridgeway of Clear Water, FL, Clyde & Anna Pearson of St. Petersburg, FL. Preceded in death by 2 brothers Jay & Raymond; a sister Linda. Services: Private family viewing only, and a Graveside service Thursday at 11am, at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg, Rev.
