Brenda Jo Mears Sturdivant, 53, of Delphi, died Thurs-Apr 14, 2016, at 5am, at her residence after a battle with cancer. She was born Apr 13, 1963 in Lafayette, to the late H. Richard & A. Magdalene O'Farrell Mears. Her marriage was to Allen Sturdivant at their house, on Sept 15, 1990, and he survives. She was a 1981 graduate of Delphi High School, and graduated from the Patricia Stevens College in Milwaukee, WI, with a degree in business. Se worked for 23 years at the Delphi License Branch, and was assistant manager, then for 3 years at the Carroll County Recorders Ofc. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Delphi. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales, flea markets, camping, canoeing, and loved country music. She enjoyed her friends, and doing things with them, like a good euchre card game. She liked making meals for her brother, and taking them to the field during planting and harvest. She dearly loved her family, and the many gatherings and memories they have shared and created over Brenda's lifetime. Surviving: husband-Allen Sturdivant of Delphi; daughter-Maggie Jo Sturdivant of Lafayette; son-Marshall Sturdivant of Delphi; stepson-Matt & April Sturdivant of Camden; sister-Barbara & John Sines of Normal, IL; brother-Douglas & Karen Mears of Delphi; nieces & nephews; 2 step grandchildren. Preceded in death by her sister Beverly. Services: Friends may call Saturday from 4-8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi.
