April 24, 1921 – January 17, 2023
Beulah Naomi Miller Gray, 101, of Delphi, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 12:13pm, at her daughter-in-law's home, near Delphi, where she had been lovingly cared for the past year. She was born April 24, 1921, in Petit, to the late Clark & Clara Jones Miller. She married Virgil P. Gray, in Flora, on January 18, 1942. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2006. After many years apart, they celebrated their 81 st wedding anniversary together in heaven. Beulah was the valedictorian of her 1939 graduating class at Rossville High School. Early in her working life, she was employed at an advertising agency in Lafayette. After marriage, she helped her husband run their hatchery in Delphi and was very active in their business, Gray Turkey Farms, just south of Delphi. In addition to being a businesswoman, she was a homemaker and loving mother to their three children. She and Virgil were members of the former Pittsburg Church of the Brethren. She was currently attending the First Assembly of God Church near Pittsburg. She was a member of the Women's Temperance Christian Union, and very active with the Gideons Auxiliary Carroll County Camp. She loved planting several flower gardens around her home and farm and enjoyed mushroom hunting in her secret spot. In her younger years, she could be found driving around her property on her Ford 2000 tractor. She and her late husband enjoyed Chicago Cubs baseball. Beulah never met a stranger and was always willing to help or lend a hand to anyone in need. She had a truly generous heart, following the teachings of her good Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Beulah's family were the greatest recipients of her generosity, and her love for them was evident. She was the driving force behind countless family meals and gatherings.
