Bernice E. Free Scott Burge, 89, of Camden, passed away at her home Sunday-December 19, 2021 at 11:30pm. She was born May 3, 1932 in Clarkesville, GA, to the late Devero & Ella Jane Skelton Free. Her first marriage was to Boyce F. Scott in Rabun County, GA, on March 27, 1948, and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1996. She then married Leonard Burge in Delphi, on December 31, 1997, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2011. She attended school in Clarkesville, GA. She was a CNA and worked at various nursing homes in Delphi and Frankfort for over 25 years and was a homemaker. She was baptized in the Baptist faith in Clarkesville, GA. She enjoyed raising a big garden and planting many flowers around her home. She enjoyed hanging many hummingbird feeders around her property, caring for the little birds and enjoyed watching them. She enjoyed traveling, mainly back to see her family. She dearly loved her family and being with them for any occasion. Surviving: daughter-Brenda G. McKee of Canton, IL; son-Jerry L. Scott of Camden; son-Lewis & Nikki Scott of Cape Coral, FL; son-Carl & Tracy Scott of Lucerne; brother-Charles & Elaine Free of Alto, GA; sister-Juanita Gunn of Cornelia, GA; sister-Eunice Heanton of Clarkesville, GA; sister-Betty Umberhandt of Demorest, GA; sister-Gail Ivester of Clarkesville, GA; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter Carrie Burge; grandson Brian "Mac" McKee; grandson's Adam Scott & Jeremy Scott; grandson Xzavier Carver; brother Forest Free.
