April L. Smith Banes, 46, of Delphi, died Fri.-July 8, 2016 at 12:10am at her home, after a battle with cancer. She was born Apr. 25, 1970, in West Covina, CA, to the late Jake Smith & Clara Jean Peffley Smith McDermitt. Her marriage was to Troy D. Banes in Monticello, on Oct. 25, 2013, and he survives. She attended Delphi Community High School, and later received her GED from Monticello. She did custom house cleaning for many years, and worked for Townsend Aviation in Monticello. She also completed and received her Child Development Certification. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds, going on motorcycle rides with her husband, working puzzles, going on float trips on the river, and dancing. She dearly loved her family, and the gatherings they had together, especially her grandchildren. Surviving: husband-Troy D. Banes of Delphi; son-Brian Shaw & Emily Reef of Otterbein; sister-Kim & Jimmy Ash of Monticello; brother-Roger D. Smith of Delphi; stepsons: Mason & Carson Banes of Lafayette; In laws-Dan & Pam Banes of Englewood, FL; 2 granddaughters. There will be no services.
