Obituary

Anna Isabelle Koontz Crohn, 93, of Flora, died Wed.-May 25, 2016, at 10:36am at her daughters home. She was born June 9, 1922 in Bloomington, IN, to the late Lovell Clyde & Edna Whaley Koontz. Her marriage was to Charles L. Crohn in Bloomington, in Sept. of 1946, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1976. She has been a resident of Flora for the past 20 years, moving here from Bloomington, to be closer to her family. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1941. She worked at RCA in Bloomington; Westinghouse; Indiana University, where she was the head cook. She and her husband owned and operated Kerr-Riley Bottled Gas for many years, where she was the bookkeeper. She enjoyed reading, planting her flower gardens, and crocheting. She dearly loved her family, and was an awesome grandma. They were her life. The many activities and family gatherings they shared together, meant everything to her. Surviving: daughter-Susie & Tim Alwine of Flora; grandchildren: Kristina & Toby Hutchins, Marissa & MJ Pattengale, Michael T. Alwine; great grandchildren: Gabriel T. Matherly, Noah A. Pattengale. sisters: Bonnie Snow & Karen & Jerry Waldon of Bloomington, Norma Jo Duke of Solsberry; brothers: Lawrence & Jennie Koontz of Bloomington, Keith & Betty Koontz of California, Howard & Glenda Koontz of Bloomington, Wayne Koontz of Illinois. Preceded by 4 brothers, 1 sister. Services: A celebration of life service will take place at a later date in Bloomington, with internment at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
